Quantity Surveyor - Birmingham

Daniel Owen is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join a the new regional office of a growing construction company specialising in commercial and residential, fit-out, refurbishment and build projects. Their portfolio includes large-scale office developments, high-end residential buildings, and state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions. With a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and efficiency, they deliver projects that meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.

Location: Birmingham City Centre - Travel will be required

Salary: 60,000 - 70,000 per annum + Package

Role Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor you will play a key role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven professional to work on a variety of projects, ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
  • Manage procurement and tendering processes, negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor project costs, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual terms and risk management procedures.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment and manage cash flow.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all commercial activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Experience working on a range of projects at one time.
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
