With a strong focus on continuous improvement, they offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their growing team.

Job Overview:

As a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, you will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion. Your key duties will involve tendering, liaising with clients and subcontractors, conducting site surveys, and supporting the senior management team. The role requires a self-motivated individual who is able to work independently, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Tendering and Estimating:

Handle initial tender and quotation enquiries.

Prepare and submit tenders, ensuring the highest quality and most competitive bids are put forward.

Take ownership of measuring and pricing projects, liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Ensure all aspects of tenders are completed efficiently and accurately, including the preparation of detailed cost plans.

Site Surveys and Client Liaison:

Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and produce accurate measurements.

Liaise directly with clients to understand their specific needs and expectations for each project.

Subcontractor and Supplier Management:

Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best value and quality are achieved for each project.

Manage subcontractor relationships to secure competitive pricing and high-quality services.

Project Support and Management:

Support Project Managers in the submission of valuations, variations, and final accounts.

Provide key input to the senior management team, contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives.

Manage project documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Types:

Work on a wide range of projects, including industrial and commercial fit-outs, schools, refurbishments, prisons, court buildings, and new build works.

Typical project values range from £50k to £7.5m.

Skills & Experience Required:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within the construction industry, ideally with a main contractor.

Strong knowledge of tendering, estimating, and project cost management.

Excellent site surveying skills and ability to produce accurate measurements and cost estimates.

Experience working across a variety of project types, including industrial, commercial, education, and refurbishments.

Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively.

Ability to work independently, taking ownership of projects from inception to completion.

Proficient in using relevant construction software (e.g., CostX, Excel, etc.).

Flexibility in working hours and arrangements is available.
