Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Location: Birmingham City Centre
Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE) + up to 20% bonus + attractive package
About the Company:
My client is a privately owned contractor specializing in large-scale accommodation projects, including Student Accommodation and Care to Residential schemes. With a strong financial position and a confirmed £225m project pipeline over the next three years, the company continues to grow across its Construction, Development, Care, and Operational divisions.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, working on a £45m Student Accommodation project in Birmingham City Centre. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile development while working closely with the commercial lead on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of all cost and contractual aspects of the project.
- Conduct cost planning, forecasting, and value engineering to ensure project profitability.
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts.
- Monitor project expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and cash flow forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and legal obligations.
- Support the commercial team in dispute resolution and risk management.
- Work closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Strong understanding of JCT contracts.
- Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
