About the Company:

My client is a privately owned contractor specializing in large-scale accommodation projects, including Student Accommodation and Care to Residential schemes. With a strong financial position and a confirmed £225m project pipeline over the next three years, the company continues to grow across its Construction, Development, Care, and Operational divisions.

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team, working on a £45m Student Accommodation project in Birmingham City Centre. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile development while working closely with the commercial lead on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management of all cost and contractual aspects of the project.
  • Conduct cost planning, forecasting, and value engineering to ensure project profitability.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontractor and supplier contracts.
  • Monitor project expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting and cash flow forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and legal obligations.
  • Support the commercial team in dispute resolution and risk management.
  • Work closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of JCT contracts.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
