This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take a leading role in the estimating function within a dynamic project environment.The RoleThe Senior Estimator will be responsible for managing the estimating process throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring accurate cost planning and compliance with project requirements. They will provide clear estimating guidance to project teams and deliver high-quality cost reports, ensuring value for money and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the estimating function within assigned projects, delivering accurate cost estimates and reports.
  • Implement and oversee estimating strategies aligned with project stage gates.
  • Undertake measurement, prepare Bills of Quantities, and ensure adherence to standard measurement methods.
  • Analyse estimating data, identify trends, and manage project cost plans.
  • Work collaboratively with wider project teams, contributing to best practices and continuous improvement.
  • Manage estimating resources, including specialist support from the supply chain.
  • Support value engineering initiatives and cost validation exercises.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies and quality assurance standards.
  • Attend client meetings and engagement events, presenting findings and recommendations.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Significant experience in estimating and the construction industry.
  • Degree educated, preferably with a 2:1 classification.
  • Membership of a recognised industry body (e.g. RICS, ACE).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential) and estimating software such as CostX, Candy, or Causeway.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to work.
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
