We are searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for one of the UKs most successful Residential Main Contractors. This business has gone from strength to strength in recent years, weathering the industry downturn and ultimately growing to a healthy £450m turnover.

This role would see you getting involved with a £90m High rise residential scheme from PCSA onwards to create a brand new mixed use community in the heart of the city.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be the commercial lead on the scheme

Duties:

• Develop detailed cost plans and estimates during the PCSA period, working closely with design and project teams to ensure financial alignment with project goals.
• Prepare and implement procurement strategies, manage tender processes, and evaluate contractor bids to achieve competitive pricing and cost efficiency.
• Assist in contract preparation, ensuring clear definition of terms, risk allocation, and legal compliance.
• Lead value engineering workshops, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising project quality.
• Monitor financial risks, provide mitigation strategies, and ensure that risk allowances are incorporated into the cost plans.
• Track and manage project budgets, providing regular cost updates and forecasts to ensure projects remain within financial targets.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on cost-related issues, providing advice on financial implications of design changes.
• Oversee the transition from pre-construction to construction, managing all commercial and contractual activities, including valuations, variations, and claims.
• Provide ongoing cost control, ensuring compliance with contracts and preparing final accounts at project completion.
• Lead post-completion cost reviews, identifying lessons learned and making recommendations for future projects.

Required:

• 5+ Years experience working as a QS/SQS on residential schemes in excess of £40m
• Experience working on schemes during the PCSA period would be beneficial but not essential.
• Ability to recruit, lead and manage a commercial team underneath you.
