Your New Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the West Midlands. This is a key role within the commercial department, responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple housing developments. The successful candidate will ensure that projects are delivered within budget and in line with the company's high standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing the financial and contractual aspects of multiple residential developments.
- Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts.
- Conducting valuations, cost reporting, and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiating and managing subcontractor packages, including procurement and payments.
- Identifying and mitigating potential financial risks.
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and industry regulations.
- Working closely with site teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure cost-effective project delivery.
- Supporting the commercial team with strategic decision-making and financial reporting.
What You Will Need to Succeed:
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the housebuilding or residential sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and financial reporting tools.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (or equivalent qualification).
- Chartered status (RICS or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
