Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Tamworth (Head of office) but sites cover whole of the Midlands

Salary: Up to 70,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

We are currently looking for an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading housing developer who have been in the industry for over 50years' and have a great reputation in the sector. They are looking to further expand their commercial team and are looking for candidates that meet the criteria below - (further job details can be provided if required)

Job roles and responsibilities of Senior Quantity Surveyor -

  • Responsible for the financial cost control and reporting of one or more developments from the Award up to and including completion of client and sub-contract final accounts, recovery/discharge of all retentions and completion of archive material
  • Ensure effective cash management and careful administration of subcontractor accounts
  • At all times being aware of the need to cultivate longstanding relationships and promote dispute avoidance
  • Must be able to swiftly identify any commercial threats to projects, ensuring this is fully communicated to the Chief Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager
  • You will supervise and be responsible for Assistant and Trainee Surveyors as well as Commercial Assistants, setting targets and allocating duties whilst maintaining quality

Candidate requirements -

  • Educated to a minimum of degree level in quantity surveying (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, you will have significant knowledge of measurement and valuation in addition to final accounts and sub-contract orders and buying
  • Strong commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management
  • Be adept in preparing and understanding financial reports and will be comfortable utilising COINS (preferable)
