Your new company

A Secondary School in North Birmingham is looking for a School Premises Assistant to join their dynamic academy. The role will be a full time role which will work on shift patterns, please note 2 nights a week you will be required to cover til 7pm when on the late shift.
Your new roleWorking closely with the Trust Estates Manager, duties will include:

  • Work with the Estates Manager to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and guidance
  • Work with the Estates Manager to ensure the general security of the buildings and grounds
  • Assist with maintaining risk assessments and management plans ensuring that they are up to date and comply with any action plans to rectify any deficiencies identified
  • Undertake site and maintenance work on the grounds, ensuring the work is carried out safely and to a high standard
  • To undertake general maintenance and remedial works in-house, calling on contractors if required and Reporting any defects of buildings, furniture, fittings and equipment to the Estates Manager
  • Deliver goods around the academy as required
  • Open and lock up and secure the Academy's premises before and after lettings, following the opening and closing procedure


What you'll need to succeed

Experience ideally of working as a caretaker within a school or similar background. You also need to have a recent enhanced DBS check and experience that Hays can reference.
