They are seeking a New Product Development Manager (NPD Manager) to drive innovation and oversee the end-to-end development of new products. This role involves concept creation, formulation, regulatory compliance, and project management, ensuring all products align with market trends and company objectives.

Location: Birmingham - hybrid in office 2 days per week

Salary: 40,000 - 43,000 (DOE)

Start date: March - July 2025

Contract: Permanent, full time

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development across skincare, haircare, and supplements, from concept to post-launch analysis.
  • Collaborate with brand and NPD teams to generate innovative product ideas that align with customer needs.
  • Assess feasibility of new product concepts, considering technical, regulatory, and commercial viability.
  • Oversee formulation development, working closely with chemists and suppliers to create high-quality, compliant products.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for domestic and international markets, adhering to industry standards.
  • Manage the stage gate process, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted on time.
  • Coordinate project timelines and execution, working with internal teams and suppliers to meet launch deadlines.
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships, sourcing new materials and negotiating contracts as needed.
  • Support supplement product development, providing technical and scientific guidance.
  • Analyse post-launch performance, identifying areas for improvement and future product opportunities.

Candidate Criteria

  • Experience in new product development, ideally within the skincare, haircare, or supplements sector.
  • Project management expertise, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Technical background in supplements, with knowledge of formulation and regulatory standards.
  • Ability to manage cross-functional collaboration, working effectively with marketing, operations, and regulatory teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess feasibility and overcome development challenges.
  • Excellent supplier management skills, including sourcing, procurement, and contract negotiation.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations for skincare, haircare, and supplements, ensuring compliance.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A passion for innovation in product development, staying ahead of industry trends and consumer preferences.
  • Previous experience in the beauty or skincare sector is highly desirable.
