Business Development Manager

Location: West Midlands

Salary:50,000 plus bonus's

Hours: Monday to Friday Full time


Are you an ambitious Business Development Manager looking for an exciting new opportunity? We are seeking a motivated professional to join our flexible sales team. This is a fantastic chance to drive growth, build strong client relationships, and make a real impact in the construction and waste management industry.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and grow your own portfolio of accounts, ensuring sales targets are met.

  • Proactively generate new business by engaging lapsed and prospective customers.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through face-to-face meetings and strategic communication.

  • Identify new sales opportunities and market trends through competitor and industry analysis.

  • Cross-sell and up-sell products and services to existing customers.

  • Price and prepare sales enquiries using company-provided pricing resources.

  • Maintain a structured sales pipeline and ensure all CRM data is up to date.

  • Convert quotations into confirmed orders through active customer follow-ups.

  • Provide regular feedback on key performance indicators and secured business.

  • Attend networking events and industry conferences to strengthen business relationships.

  • Support and mentor internal sales teams to drive overall success.


Skills & Experience Required:


  • 10+ years of sales experience in aggregates, muck away, or related construction materials.

  • Strong knowledge of the construction industry and market trends.

  • Highly organised with a confident and persuasive communication style.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to achieving sales success.

  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively.

  • Full UK driving licence and own transport (desirable).
