My client is a well-established full service hydraulic company. Established over 35 years ago they provide hydraulic support across the UK & Ireland with over 75 centres enabling them to provide a fantastic service. Due to recent exciting investments, they are looking to grow and develop their sales team by hiring an energetic, driven Business Development Manager who has specialist industry knowledge of the Rail, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Environmental, Material Handling or Pharmaceutical to cover the UK and support the business in new ventures. As an Industry specialised Business Development Manager covering the UK you will be tasked with managing and developing customer portfolios within your specific sector and supporting existing accounts.

£50,000 - £55,000 Basic DOE, up to 20% bonus, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, Car, health care, dental care, and pension.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained both internally and externally.
  • Working with National Account Managers to support key accounts.
  • Identifying sales opportunities within bespoke sectors including Rail, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Environment, Material Handling or Pharmaceuticals.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts, providing excellent customer service.
  • Provide sales assistance and technical support in your bespoke sector.
  • Building strong relationships and identify opportunities to cross and up sell.
  • Establish new business and reconnect with lapsed clients.
  • Represent the brand to a high standard, promoting services.
  • Research, network and contact new and existing clients to create opportunities to develop business.
  • Ensure all sales reports are provided regularly, analysed and used to support clients and grow your area.
  • Conduct sales training and development programs to ensure skills and knowledge of the industry and up to date.
  • Attend meetings and networks exhibitions to keep up to date with industry trends.

To apply you MUST have or hold:

  • Experience within engineering/technical environment.
  • Hydraulic knowledge is beneficial.
  • Extensive knowledge of any of these bespoke sectors Rail, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Environment, Material Handling or Pharmaceuticals.
  • Previous BDM/Area Sales experience is beneficial.
  • Able to communicate technical information to all personnel.
  • Fantastic relationship builder.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • The ability to present yourself professionally.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
  • Confident to work independently.
  • Be interested in learning and developing.
  • A can-do attitude.
  • Full UK driving license.
