About the Business

An opportunity to be a Finance Assistant for a service business based in Birmingham. It’s a rapidly growing business which operates across 20 different countries.

Main Duties:

As a Finance Assistant, your main duties include:

  • Downloading direct receipts from internet banking and maintaining cash records for all client bank accounts
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations, investigating outstanding items and resolving queries
  • Recording cheques, preparing paying in slips and then banking.
  • Ensuring risk is minimised and any issues are reported and resolved promptly
  • Supporting the automation of tasks and contributing to the development of processes to realise efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Providing accurate data to the management for KPI’s and benchmarking
  • Process supplier purchase Invoices and managing related queries across both AY and client systems in line with the procedures for internal and external systems.
  • Matching and batching the supplier invoices to purchase orders once approved
  • Navigate the Finance systems for an authorised PO to match or chase PO numbers from onsite team, contact supplier to advise and request all future invoices have an order number quoted
  • Scan invoice into the Finance systems

Location / Office / Culture

This role is based at the company’s offices in Birmingham, with a hybrid working pattern of 3 days in the office and 2 from home.

What We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in financial administrative role (cashiering or treasury functions is desirable)
  • Strong Excel skills and MS Office skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • A self-motivated attitude to maintain output and results.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.
  • Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping is desirable
