We are looking for a skilled and reliableBand Saw Operatorto join our team. This role will involve setting up and operating various machinery to cut, shape, and process steel materials for production. The ideal candidate will have experience with semi-automatic cut saws, hand grinders, press brakes, and other tools commonly used in a sheet steel environment. A strong knowledge of safety procedures, as well as experience with welding and plasma cutting, will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Saw Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain semi-automatic cut saws to efficiently cut steel to required sizes and specifications.
  • Material Preparation: Use hand grinders and deburring tools to smooth and finish steel edges, ensuring high-quality and accurate cuts.
  • Machine Operation: Operate additional machinery such as press brakes, pillar drilling machines, and steel ironworker machines (cropper) to further shape and process steel materials.
  • Cutting Techniques: Apply various techniques such as plasma cutting and welding to cut and join materials as needed for specific projects.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and verify cut materials for accuracy, ensuring they meet strict specifications before moving them to the next stage of production.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all company health and safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and address minor equipment malfunctions and adjust settings to ensure consistent and precise cuts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to meet production targets and ensure timely completion of projects

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Saw Operator or in a steel processing role is required.
  • Equipment Familiarity: Ability to operate a semi-auto cut saw, hand grinders, press brake, pillar drill, steel ironworker machine (cropper), and plasma cutting tools.
  • Welding Skills: Experience in basic welding techniques is preferred, but not required.
  • Steel Environment Knowledge: Solid understanding of working with sheet steel, including how to measure, cut, and shape materials.
  • Health & Safety: Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, especially in a manufacturing or steel-processing environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to work with precision and a keen eye for quality control to ensure exact measurements and cuts.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, as well as stand for extended periods.

WORKING HOURS : MONDAY TO THURSDAY 6AM TILL 6PM
