My client, a very successful pigment colouring company, is looking to recruit an Industrial Lab Technician / Laboratory Technician for their manufacturing site located in Oldbury, Birmingham. 聽This is a permanent position and will report into the Production manager
聽
Overview of role
As the successful lab Technician you will be responsible for of all QC, testing, regulatory and development work relating to the Oldbury manufacturing site.
聽
The laboratory main tasks will include working predominately on your own and will include:
路Being responsible for testing, quality control, regulatory and product
路development and assisting with production processes when required.
路Work on own initiative and escalate issues to Production Manager as appropriate
路Work closely with Production to ensure timely despatch of on spec deliveries.
路Support the sales team in business development by developing solutions in response to customer demands.
路Identify and report any product or equipment faults.
路Maintain good stock of reagents and consumables needed for laboratory use.
路Create and maintain electronic records on the company MRP system Microsoft NAVision and facilitate the execution of production orders and instructions.
路Keep all Bills of Material up to date including operating instructions.
路To develop and maintain Technical Data sheets, Material Safety Data Sheets.
路To investigate the cause of any quality related non-conformances and assist in
路the implementation of agreed preventive measures.
路To be prepared to travel to other Group and Customer sites for the purpose of
providing technical support/and or undergoing training.
路To ensure all laboratory areas are kept in a clean and safe state.

Keys skills required:
路Excellent Laboratory skills, ideally gained in a manufacturing environment
路Happy to work on your own
路Self driven
路Excellent computer skills
路Excellent attention to detail
路Good communication skills

This role will suit a person that may have previously worked as a Lab assistant, Lab Tech and is based in Oldbury, Birmingham
