We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a ofsted good primary school in Great Barr. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the school, with a particular focus on phonics and Special Educational Needs (SEN) support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young learners, working alongside passionate staff in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons.

  • Provide targeted phonics support to small groups and individual pupils.

  • Assist in the implementation of SEN strategies to support students with additional learning needs.

  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment.

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff.

Requirements:
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Experience working within a primary school setting.

  • Strong knowledge of phonics teaching methods.

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN.

  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach to learning.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
