Based in the heart of the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, we are a friendly, well-established but growing business of 280 employees.With almost 60% of employees having worked at Cooksongold for over 5 years, why not come and join the team?As a Site Security Officer in the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter, you will be part of a small friendly team who are responsible for maintaining the security of the site by conducting routine searches, monitoring CCTV and doing daily walk rounds. You will act as the first point of contact for visitors and will be interacting with colleagues at all levels. You will need to be able to work a varied shift pattern of 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 8pm on a rota basis, with occasional work at weekends and bank holidays.Your duties will include:- Controlling movements on and off-site using access control- Front-of-house responsibilities including greeting visitors and employees- Issuing badges / clock cards- Searching all employees / visitors on exit using airport-style Security systems- Checking incoming deliveries- Dealing with incoming telephone calls and redirecting as appropriate- Monitoring CCTV cameras / systems- Providing First Aid support across the site- Providing flexibility and additional cover as required e.g., using the company van to make collections and deliveries when required- Unlocking & locking up the site / patrol proceduresThe successful candidate will have:- Previous experience of front of house Security- To be professional and highly motivated- Well, presented, enthusiastic and hard-working- Qualifications in Providing Security Services would be desirable- The ability to operate IT based systems and compile logs and reports- A First Aid training qualification or willing to qualify if recruited- Skilled and confident communicator with strong customer service- Demonstrable strong health & safety awareness- A full, valid driving licenceHours of work:The candidate must be able to work flexible shift patterns of 6am - 2pm and 2pm - 8pm on a rota basis.We are based within the Birmingham Clean Air zone and the successful candidate must ensure they are able to reach the site for a 6am start.Total 37.5 hours per week, plus overtime and call-out cover when required.Benefits:- Starting salary of £24,000 increasing to £25,000 after successful completion of probation- Up to 37 days’ annual leave including bank holidays- Company Pension Scheme with employer contributions matched up to 8%- Life Assurance- Salary sacrifice schemes for Childcare vouchers and Cycle to Work- Free onsite secured car parking- Discounts on Company products- Paid Overtime and call-out bonusVisit our website to learn more about our products and services.As part of the new starter vetting process, the successful candidate will be asked to complete a criminal record check from the DBS and asked to provide references; due to the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) please do not disclose referee details on your CV.So, if you’re seeking your next challenge as a Site Security Officer, please apply via the button shown.
