Field Service Engineer (Auto Electrics)

Employment type: Initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract, full-time

Location: Nationwide travel is required. Staying away when necessary.

Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: 40,000 - 42,000 p.a. depending on experience + company vehicle + fuel card + overtime + excellent company benefits.

Are you an Engineer with auto electrical experience and looking for a new challenge?

We are seeking an Engineer to join our client's team at a pivotal time in the company's journey as they evolve to meet the future safety needs of buses and coaches. The successful candidate will be eager to learn a fascinating role involving mechanical and electrical systems and the ability to fault find. You will predominantly survey and install Electrical kits to buses and coaches.

You will work on a field basis covering the whole of the UK and will be provided with full training. Although initially a 12-month fixed term contract there are likely to be further opportunities beyond this.

The Role:

  • Travel to customers' sites across England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland to conduct installation surveys.
  • Thoroughly complete all necessary installation survey paperwork.
  • Carry out the initial installation in accordance with the manufacturers' guidelines, including making any required electrical connections.
  • Test and calibrate the equipment to ensure optimum performance.
  • Work efficiently to ensure the tasks are completed within the specified time frame.
  • Auditing of the electrical kits that have been implemented on the buses/coaches.
  • Maintain a strong focus on quality, environmental responsibility, and health and safety, continuously striving for improvement and working without compromise to meet our customers' needs.

Experience Required:

  • Knowledge on auto electrics and electrical wiring on.
  • Able to use a variety of hand tools, such as a multimeter.
  • Basic IT skills for inputting data into a system.
  • Flexibility with shifts as some evening work may be required from time to time.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
