Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (DOE)

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and rapidly growing commercial waste management company in Birmingham, who are seeking a highly organised and experienced Service Delivery Manager to join their operations team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable leader with a strong background in service delivery, operations, or logistics. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in improving service efficiency, managing team performance, and ensuring operational compliance across both field and office operations.

About the Role:

As Service Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of both commercial waste collection drivers and administrative office staff. You will work closely with multiple departments, including logistics, compliance, and customer service, to ensure that all service commitments are met reliably and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who is process-driven, solution-focused, and confident in their ability to lead teams and drive operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and manage the daily workload of drivers and office staff to ensure effective service delivery

  • Monitor operational performance, address issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives

  • Manage and support office staff performance, including coaching and conducting reviews

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies, promoting a safe working environment

  • Oversee accurate and timely input of operational data across internal systems

  • Interpret and apply relevant Road Traffic Acts and environmental service legislation

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tachograph regulations and ensure fleet compliance

  • Identify areas for process optimisation and implement practical improvements

  • Act as a central point of contact between departments, ensuring smooth communication and efficient workflow

  • Foster a high-performance, safety-conscious culture within the service and office teams

Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, organised, and experienced leader with a background in operational or service delivery roles, particularly in logistics, waste, or transport.

  • Experience in a similar role (e.g., operations, logistics, service delivery, transport)

  • Excellent team leadership and staff management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook

  • Good understanding of tachograph legislation and driver working hours compliance

  • Knowledge of relevant road traffic legislation and its practical application

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities

  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement
