We are looking for a Construction and Groundworks Materials Buyer on a full-time and permanent basis to join the Procurement team located in the Yardley Wood area in Birmingham.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with the procurement process of Materials
Sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating with suppliers
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Assist with material take-offs for bulk orders
Assist the commercial team with pricing for project tenders.
Ensure quality and performance of ordered materials are in line with required standards
Chase deliveries from suppliers that are overdue.
Assist in the resolution of any issues or invoice disputes with suppliers.
Obtain technical data sheets and assist surveyors/project managers with any information required on project specific products when required.
Prepare and compile project O&M manuals with assistance from Project teams
Assist with stock returns on surplus materials from site and/or moving to new projects.
Updating company systems when necessary (hires and off-hires).
Previous Experience:
- Must have previous Buyer/Purchasing experience within the groundworks/civils or builder's merchant's sector.
- Knowledge of framework agreements.
- Knowledge/understanding of ERP systems.
Working hours
Monday - Friday (Apply online only) (40 hours per week)
Salary Circa 50K per annum.
20 days holiday + Statutory Bank Holidays Company
To be considered for this role you must have Knowledge or previous background of working in the construction industry and groundworks is required.
