Deputy Manager

Our client is looking for a Deputy Manager to work in a children's home in Moseley, supporting children and young people aged 7- 18.

The home operates 24 hours a day, with a shift pattern of 8 am-11 pm, with some sleep-ins required. The role will entail 2-3 shifts per week, including weekends.

Duties of the Deputy Manager:

  • Working within a children's home supporting young people and children aged 7-18 years
  • Coordinating and monitoring staffing levels within the home to meet individual needs.
  • Assisting with the company's selection and recruitment process.
  • Assisting the Registered Manager in providing operational management of the staff team
  • Organising, delivering and co-ordinating induction, supervision, appraisal, and support to individual staff
  • Reviewing the implementation of care plans in line with legislation and company guidance.
  • Chairing meetings where appropriate.
  • Acting as a designated person in charge in the Registered Manager's absence.
  • Implementing the relevant safeguarding procedure
  • Ensuring the protection and welfare of young people
  • Liaising with other professional agencies.
  • Promoting contact between young people and family members.
  • Managing identified budgets.
  • Chairing staff meetings and young people's meetings


Requirements of the Deputy Manager:

  • Enhanced DBS Desirable
  • UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
