  • Our client, a successful manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Stores Manager to join their team in preparation for significant growth in 2025.
  • Candidates must have a proven track record in managing a Stores/Warehouse team and experience in writing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • A solid understanding of the manufacturing process and experience with Sage accounting software or similar is required, with CAD drawing comprehension being a desirable skill.
  • The role involves managing a team of about three staff, implementing Lean Manufacturing principles, and ensuring efficient goods management and quality control.
  • The position offers a salary of £35,000 and is suitable for individuals with relevant manufacturing or engineering stores experience.

Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer with big plans for 2025 and the future. They are looking for an experienced Stores Manager from a manufacturing background to join their team.

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE:

•    A proven track record of managing a Stores / Warehouse team (Essential).
•    Experience of writing and implementing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
•    A solid understanding of the manufacturing process.
•    Had some experience of using Sage accounting software, or similar software.
•    Be able to understand CAD drawings / engineering diagrams (Desirable)

Main Duties:

•    Managing a team of approximately 3 full time staff, holding daily meetings, tool box talks.
•    Carry out staff assessments, appraisals, disciplinaries, 1-2-1’s.
•    Liaising with Managers of other departments, i.e. Production, R & D, and Fabrication.
•    Must have proven Lean Manufacturing experience.
•    Formulating and implementing processes based on Lean thinking.
•    Ensure goods received are booked in accurately and items are put away in a timely manner.
•    Evolve the system of kitting parts for lifts.
•    Creating and updating all SOPs.
•    Work with the Purchasing Manager to ensure Suppliers upgrade to barcode system
•    From the Andon System, identify and drive out root cause issues.
•    Implementation and evolution of Kanban System to Production line.
•    Implementation and evolution of Kanban system to Suppliers.
•    Monitoring the quality of work produced, implementing corrective actions.
•    Implementing new parts storage upgrade across the whole Stores.
•    Responsible for providing materials to a fast-moving production line.
•    Maintain a clean and safe stores environment.

Hours of work: 6:40am - 4:45pm, Monday to Thursday (3 day weekend)

Salary: £35,000

This role would suit someone with manufacturing / engineering stores experience, previous roles could include; Stores Supervisor / Stores Team Leader / Stock Control Manager / Stock Control Supervisor / Stock Control Team Leader / Stock Controller / Warehouse Manager / Warehouse Supervisor / Warehouse Team Leader / Senior Stores Operative / other.
