Toolroom Manager 

Location - Smethwick

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Toolroom staff to high standards ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage work routing, planning, and material procurement.
  • Coordinate heat treatment, coatings, and secondary processes.
  • Monitor, Control, and continuously improve toolroom manufacturing processes.
  • Establish documentation around standard operating procedures and enforce good working practice.
  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance plans for plant equipment.
  • Ensure the highest health and safety standards.
  • Supervise toolroom apprentices and liaise with external training providers.
  • Manage precision tooling projects from first conception to try-out, commissioning, and hand over to production
  • Promote cross communication between departments
  • Have a proactive nature and a can-do attitude towards our goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 15 years of hands-on toolroom experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • Tool design experience would be highly welcomed
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Competent in tooling fault finding, modifying, and Maintaining
  • A background in fine punch tooling, or similar would be advantageous
  • Strong leadership and process optimization skills.
  • Commitment to mentoring and developing apprentices.
  • Fluent in Microsoft office products. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
