Residential Childrens & Young People Support Workers

Salary from £11.65 - £13 per hr + £55 sleep allowance

DAYS: 7:30am -10pm OR 10am-10pm

FULL SHIFT: 10am -10.30pm & Sleep 7.30am-10am finish

WAKE NIGHTS: 10pm-7.30am OR 9pm-8am

ProSkillz Recruitment Ltd are working in partnership with various EBD and Learning Disabilities childrens residential home in the Birmingham and surrounding areas who are looking for NVQ 3 qualified Residential Childrens & Young People Support Workers to join their team on a bank or permanent contract.

The homes are ideally looking for NVQ 3 Childrens and Young People support workers that enjoy encouraging, motivating and caring for young people, as well as maintaining boundaries and identifying any concerns young people face today.

To be shortlisted for these positions the ideal candidate must have the following:

NVQ 3 or Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent

previous experience working with children with EBD and/or Learning Disabilities

the ability to work independently and as part of a team,

Some Restraint experience to support colleagues manage behaviours that may challenge.

Support and participate in young people's social, life-long learning plans and recreational activities in line with care/ support plans, trips out and holidays.

Support Workers are expected toact as a Key worker to specified individual young person, taking on responsibility for specified areas of care and support. This includes ensuring all medical needs are met and supporting the young person to advocate his/her own needs and wishes.

Support Workers are expected toencourage young people to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
