Your new organisation:
We are recruiting for a Community Liaison Officer for Birmingham City Council on a 9-month contract basis, starting as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about sustainability or environmental matters, who is also confident in their communication skills. As part of this role, you will be liaising with local schools. Therefore, experience of this would be beneficial.
Your new role:
In this Community Liaison Officer job, you will be joining the new waste service team, promoting their new recycling service. You will be travelling across the city in a promotional vehicle (a driver will be present with you), promoting and informing residents of the new service.You will also liaise with councillors and supermarkets to help with promotional activity. You will be expected to get involved with neighbourhood groups as well as go out to schools to help educate them on recycling and how we can do things differently.
What you'll need to succeed:
You will have significant experience in a customer-facing role or community engagement. You will also be a confident speaker and have experience promoting or presenting to different groups/environments. Ideally, you will be a driver. However, this is not essential.
What you will get in return:
This role is working Monday - Friday, on an initial 9-month contract. There may be potential for this role to go permanently for the right candidate. You will be paid on a weekly basis of up to £17.16 plus holiday pay.
