Role Overview:
We are seeking a Family Support Worker to join the team and help provide vital support to families facing a range of challenges. The successful candidate will play a key role in working closely with families to assess their needs, deliver tailored interventions, and help them access essential services. Key Responsibilities:
- Offer one-on-one support to families facing a variety of challenges, including financial difficulties, housing issues, parenting concerns, and mental health challenges.
- Conduct home visits and assessments to identify the specific needs of families.
- Develop and implement individual support plans, offering practical and emotional support.
- Liaise with external agencies and organisations to connect families with additional services, such as health care, housing support, and education.
- Support families in building skills and resilience to overcome their challenges.
- Provide guidance on parenting, budgeting, and child development where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate case records and provide regular updates to supervisors and other professionals involved in the case.
- Attend team meetings, training, and development opportunities as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A background in working with children and young people, community support, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Experience in supporting families or working within the social care sector.
- A strong understanding of the challenges families face and the ability to provide practical and emotional support.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and build trust with families.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A compassionate, non-judgmental, and empathetic approach to working with families in need.
- Candidates must have good spoken and written English as there will be case notes to write up.
- Must be confident in speaking to professional multi agencies on a panel
- Must have a DBS on the update service
- Level 3 in either Health and Social Care, Level 3 in Children workforce, or NNEB in Early Years
- A full driving license and access to a car may be required with business insurance and a valid MOT.
