Join a leading National Housing Charity as a Housing Support Worker in Birmingham and help prevent homelessness in your community.THE ROLEAs a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in engaging with referral agencies and supporting service users to achieve positive outcomes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Engage with local authorities, statutory, and voluntary agencies to generate referrals.
  • Plan and deliver effective support and safety plans, regularly reviewing and updating progress.
  • Ensure properties are well-maintained, furnished, and clean.
  • Issue correct tenure and support agreements, ensuring compliance.
  • Empower service users to achieve their desired outcomes and actively involve them in decision-making.
  • Develop early move-on plans, identifying realistic housing options.
  • Support service users with domestic tasks, providing practical assistance where necessary.

THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting vulnerable individuals. Additionally, you will have:

  • Experience in engaging with referral agencies and local authorities.
  • Strong understanding of homelessness prevention and support services.
  • Ability to manage and maintain housing properties effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on service user empowerment.

THE CONTRACT

  • 35 Hours Per Week, 09:00 to 17:30
  • 12 Weeks, Temp to Perm
