Learning Support Assistant
Location: B72, Sutton Coldfield
Pay Scale: 400 - 450 per week
Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Full-time
Start Date: March 2025
Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work across various year groups, providing essential support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday during term time from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The role is based at a mainstream primary school and will commence in March 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students within a resource base setting
- Lead small group interventions to support learning and development
- Assist children with additional needs, such as ASD and ADHD
- Engage pupils through creative and stimulating learning activities
- Work closely with teachers to provide additional classroom support
- Communicate effectively with the SENCO regarding student progress
- Deliver phonics sessions to pupils working at different ability levels
- Provide 1:1 support for children with autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, and lower academic attainment
- Be a proactive and positive member of the school community, upholding its values
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold a relevant qualification (degree or TA certificate)
- Have experience working with children in a school setting
- Ideally have experience supporting students with SEN
- Be adaptable and able to tailor their approach to different learning needs
- Build strong relationships with pupils to support their progress
