Learning Support Assistant

Location: B72, Sutton Coldfield

Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work across various year groups, providing essential support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and behavioural challenges. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday during term time from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The role is based at a mainstream primary school and will commence in March 2025.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students within a resource base setting
  • Lead small group interventions to support learning and development
  • Assist children with additional needs, such as ASD and ADHD
  • Engage pupils through creative and stimulating learning activities
  • Work closely with teachers to provide additional classroom support
  • Communicate effectively with the SENCO regarding student progress
  • Deliver phonics sessions to pupils working at different ability levels
  • Provide 1:1 support for children with autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, and lower academic attainment
  • Be a proactive and positive member of the school community, upholding its values


The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a relevant qualification (degree or TA certificate)
  • Have experience working with children in a school setting
  • Ideally have experience supporting students with SEN
  • Be adaptable and able to tailor their approach to different learning needs
  • Build strong relationships with pupils to support their progress
