Residential Care worker - Childrens services

£11.44 - £11.82 Per Hour

Sleep-in rate

• Provide direct care and support to children in a residential setting
• Implement care plans and support individual needs
• Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
• Engage children in activities and promote their social and emotional development
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals

• NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent
• Enhanced DBS check
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures

Minimum of NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent

Prior experience in residential care for children

• Knowledge of child development and attachment theory
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection

• First Aid certification
• Training in de-escalation techniques
• Experience working with children with complex needs

• Shift work including weekends and evenings
• Possibility of sleep-in shifts
• Working in a residential care setting with children
