Prospero Teaching is looking for a resilient and energetic Youth worker to support students in a Secondary SEMH Alternative Provision in Solihull. The school is for students in Key Stage 2 Key Stage 4, many of whom have found it difficult to be successful in a mainstream school and some with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The school is a provision for a range of needs, including autistic spectrum disorder, Aspergers Syndrome, speech and language difficulties and severe social, emotional and mental health difficulties, for example, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Class sizes are small with a teaching assistant to support each class. The school differentiates the curriculum to ensure all pupils can access it, for example, by grouping, 1:1 work, teaching style, content of the lesson. For KS2 or KS3 pupils on a short-term placement, the school have a Nurture provision. Located in Solihull the school is easily accessed by public transport with bus stops nearby. The school has onsite parking available. The position is open to all experienced and those who have a strong background in youth work or have any other experience of mentoring children and young adults. Depending on performance, the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.
