We are currently looking for candidates to join their teams on a full-time, temporary basis. Being the largest leading local authority in the whole of Europe, Birmingham City Council are renowned for their expertise in public services and endless opportunities.Your new role We are looking for social housing professionals to join the teams of these local authorities for a number of different positions. As a Housing Officer, you will deliver a responsive and customer-focused service to those affiliated with the local authority.As a Housing Outreach Officer, you will pick up and respond to complaints across the city of Birmingham. You will make community housing visits assessing Health & Safety, as well as respond to complaints such as fly tipping. You will lease with external parties such as waste enforcement and highway maintenance. You will also be expected to report and escalate any other matters to the relevant internal Birmingham City Council teams.What you'll need to succeedIn order to succeed in these roles, you will need a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle that complies with the clean air zone in Birmingham City Centre. You must also possess or be willing to add business insurance to your policy. A further requirement is a background in Social Housing - this could be a housing officer, neighbourhood officer, homelessness officer etc. You will need knowledge of Legislation and Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act. These roles will be an ASAP start once compliant. Before starting, you will need to pass your reference and compliance checks. Usually it is a 3-month ongoing contract with a high likelihood of long-term extensions.
