Your new companyDue to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking to recruit an officer to join the Housing Management team as a Housing Needs Officer. Your new roleAs a Housing Officer, you will assist the team in providing a customer-focused and consistent temporary accomodation (TA) support service, while undertaking the full range of housing management duties. You will deliver a responsive high quality temporary accommodation (TA) tenancy support service that enables customers to sustain their TA tenancy and successfully move on into suitable secured accommodation. You will also carry out TA floating support visits and management of TA tenancies. You will need a full driving licence to travel around the city conducting home/site visits to deliver NTQs (notice to quit), carry out occupancy checks & lock changes and deal with matters of anti-social behaviour. What you'll need to succeedYou will need up-to-date knowledge and understanding of housing landlord and tenant policy and procedures where pertinent to the role, good case management, planning and organising skills. An ability to undertake risk assessments and implement/monitor safe working practice is required. It is also important to have an understanding of and ability to comply with relevant legislation, including health and safety and equality in service delivery, service provision and employment.In addition, this role will be an ASAP start,. Before starting, you will need to pass your reference and compliance checks. Please bear this in mind when applying.What you'll get in returnThis is a full-time, temporary role based in Birmingham. This is a six-month contract but may be open to extension. This role is a Grade 3 position, with a rate of £12 for the first 13 weeks before increasing to £13.20 per hour (PAYE).
