Neighbourhood OfficerBirmingham, UKTempFull Time - HybridWe have had an exciting opportunity become available, to join a team based in Birmingham as a Neighbourhood Officer. This is a full time, temporary position with an initial contract period of 3 months. The postholder will carry out estate walkabouts, communal inspections, identify and deal with untidy gardens, and support the team with general estate management duties.Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Neighbourhood Officer or similar
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedure
  • Experience of providing good tenancy, housing and leasehold advice, and knowledge of best practice and compliance procedures
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • Experience providing an effective service to members of the public

Role Expectations

  • To deliver a customer focused housing management service to the community
  • To deal with or escalate all breaches of tenancy regulations in a timely manner and in line with thresholds and procedures, including Anti-Social Behaviour
  • Responsible for the day to day patch based void management of properties and work with partners and teams to ensure properties are let as soon as possible
  • Carry out property and estate inspections and resolve any issues identified
  • Ensure tenants properties and estates comply with legislation and agreed standards
  • Work alongside the community to develop community-based solutions
  • Serve relevant legal notices in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Organise and assist the community with regard to minor environmental clean-up campaigns
  • To ensure a customer focused approach is adopted in all aspects of the service
