Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Technical Leader on a6 month rolling Contract, located in West Midlands.

OUTSIDE IR35

1-2 days on site, 2-3 days working from home

Role Summary

You will reside within the Digital Systems and Solutions Team (DSS) withinDigital & Data Solutions organization.

You will be responsible for guiding the technical direction of projects execution and lead operational service support, ensuring high-quality code/product, leading the work and activities of a team of developers within a Scrum Setup and Agile Development.

Being both a hands-on developer and a strategic thinker, also delving into the details of coding and system design. Bridging the gap between development operations.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will contribute to the team and business by:

Technical Direction: Manage and lead the technical vision and strategy for projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.

Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of the codebase through rigorous testing, code reviews, and the implementation of best practices for software development.

Release Management: Oversee the release process, ensuring reliable and consistent delivery of software products. Develop and enforce release policies and standards.

Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Optimize the flow from code commit to production deployment, minimizing manual intervention.

Monitoring and Reporting: Implement monitoring tools to proactively detect issues. Provide detailed reports on release progress, system performance, and process adherence.

Transition to Service: Drive smooth transition to service ensuring required resources, documentation, process and tools are available, fully functional, validated and signoff.

Service Support: Being accountable for service support, performance and continues improvement, driving key ITIL Processes (as Incident, Problem, Change Management)

Required qualifications, experience and skillset

- Bachelors in Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

- Ideal 10+ years in software development with a focus on Operations, automation, release management. Relevant experience Implementing best development practices.

- Strong background in Service Management frameworks, processes, implementation, and management - Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Dot Net Core, Python, Angular), relational and non-relational databases (Snowflake, SQL Server, etc), experience with microservice architecture (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Git), and ITIL service Support

- Proven track record of managing software releases in complex environments, with an emphasis on safety, traceability, and accountability. - Solid understanding of operating systems (Linux/Windows), cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and networking concepts.

Preferred qualifications:

- May include certifications such as AWS solution architect, AWS cloud or similar.

- The Technical Lead should be an advocate for automating repetitive tasks, with an ongoing commitment to improving the end-to-end delivery of software.
