Here at Midlands ETS we have an exciting opportunity for adedicated and knowledgeable Health & Social Care Tutor/Assessor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment for students in the health and social care sector and have a passion for making a difference to young people who have Special Education Needs. This role involves teaching theory, conducting practical assessments, and providing support to learners to help them achieve their qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction and Assessment:

    • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions in health and social care topics.
    • Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assessment tools.
    • Assess students' work, providing constructive feedback and support to enhance their learning experience.
  • Learner Support:

    • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to learners to help them achieve their qualifications.
    • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure that all training and assessment activities meet regulatory and quality standards.
    • Participate in internal and external quality assurance processes.
  • Collaboration:

    • Work closely with colleagues to share best practices and develop the curriculum.
    • Build and maintain relationships with local employers and community organizations.
  • Professional Development:

    • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and changes in legislation related to health and social care.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Relevant qualification in health and social care (e.g., NVQ, Diploma, or Degree).
    • Teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent) is preferred.
    • Assessing qualifications (e.g. CAVA, D32/33) desirable
    • Internal Quality Assurance qualifications desirable
  • Experience:

    • Previous experience as a tutor, assessor, or in a relevant health and social care role.
    • Strong knowledge of health and social care policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
    • Proficient in using technology and online learning platforms.

This is a term time only post working over 42 weeks of the year working 22.5 hours per week. Day's/Times of working can be agreed and discussed with Wendy Hemsley at Midlands ETS.
