Spirehouse Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Homeless Support Worker on behalf of a charity in the West Midlands. 

 

The Opportunity:

To join a charity in the West Midlands on a short-term contract as a Homeless Support Worker. You shall be supporting individuals of Birmingham who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Please note: We shall not be accepting Care Workers or Health Care Assistants for this post, so need not apply.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide support to clients in a variety of ways, including community hubs around the city, via telephone and digital enquiries and through agency referrals
  • Clear understanding and knowledge of housing management advice and guidance to clients
  • Support clients to link in with appropriate services including GP, Mental Health or DWP where needed, booking appointments or making referrals where appropriate
  • Provide information, advice and support to clients, signposting and referring them to internal and external services as appropriate
  • Work in partnership with external services to increase awareness of the service to network with other stakeholders and build effective partnerships

Further information:

  • 35 hours – Monday-Friday
  • October/ November 2024 – Potential for extension
  • Immediate interviews to be held along with starts
  • £15.10 per hour paid via Umbrella

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in supporting those experiencing or at risk of homelessness 
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last three years
