Your new companyBirmingham City Council are looking to recruit 2 Social Workers for their 'No Recourse to Public Funds Team' (NRPF).

Your new roleThis is an exciting opportunity for experienced social workers to join a stable and supportive NRPF team who are passionate & committed to providing the best decisions and care for citizens of Birmingham.NRPF provides information and signposting services to vulnerable people who are unable to access statutory services across Birmingham. Providing assessments, information regarding welfare benefits, housing support and adult social care support.As a Social Worker, you will have substantial experience and working knowledge of adult social work and have knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Human rights Act 1998 and Immigration and Asylum Act 1999.

You will be required to carry out face-to-face reviews with citizens who are seeking asylum and be willing to travel to hospitals, community and residential homes.The team is exceptionally highly functioning and well-supported by Senior Practitioners and Team Managers. Hybrid working. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful you will require, a Social Work qualification (BA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW, CSS or CCETSW approved equivalent). Current professional registration with Social Work England and a minimum of 1 year's experience working with adults in a Social work positionGood assessment skills and knowledge of legislation that underpin Social Work.
