Role Overview:

As the Fostering Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting our fostering team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and fostering services. You will manage and lead a team of social workers, working closely with foster carers, children, and other stakeholders to achieve the best outcomes for all involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers and fostering practitioners, providing guidance, supervision, and performance management.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality fostering services in line with statutory requirements, regulatory standards, and agency policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and service delivery.
  • Monitor and review fostering assessments, placements, and casework, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practices.
  • Facilitate training and professional development for team members, promoting continuous improvement and learning.
  • Work collaboratively with foster carers, children, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support and address any issues or concerns.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the agency's strategic objectives and operational plans.
  • Prepare and present reports for management meetings, ensuring accurate and timely communication of key information and performance metrics.

Key Requirements:

  • Social Work Qualification: You must be a qualified social worker, registered with the appropriate professional body.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a team manager role within an independent fostering agency (IFA) is highly preferred.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fostering regulations, child protection, and relevant legislation.
