Youth offending Officer Job description:

  • The role requires case manager to undertake OOC assessment and case management . Act AA and be part of YOS duty Team. complete interventions and group work with the children open to the North East Team
  • Birmingham Youth Offending Service consists of eight teams (four area based, one court based, one intensive supervision and surveillance, one girls only and one harmful sexual behaviour team) which are made up from staff seconded from Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Police, Birmingham Health Authority and the Voluntary Sector
  • The aim of these multi-agency Youth Offending Team Services is to prevent offending by children and young people by achieving the following objectives
  • Dealing with children in the Youth Justice system promptly and without unnecessary delay.
  • Helping children with the consequences of their offending, for their victim(s), for themselves, their families and their communities.
  • Deliver a range of interventions which tackle the factors which place a child at risk of offending.
  • Build effective local strategies to reduce crime by children by working collaboratively with partner agencies.

Requirements for this Youth offending Officer role;

- Proven experience in working with Youth services
- Current Enhanced DBS Disclosure
- Eligibility to work in the UK without work permit or visa restrictions
- Commitment to the safe care and well-being of vulnerable people
