Hatched Recruitment is working closely with the local authorities and we are looking for grade 5 or 4 Youth Justice Workers or Social Workers who have already worked in Youth Justice.

Scope and Purpose of Role

Birmingham Youth Offending Service consists of eight teams (four area based, one court based, one intensive supervision and surveillance, one girls only and one harmful sexual behaviour team) which are made up from staff seconded from Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Police, Birmingham Health Authority and the Voluntary Sector.

The aim of these multi-agency Youth Offending Team Services is to prevent offending by children and young people by achieving the following objectives.

* Dealing with children in the Youth Justice system promptly and without unnecessary delay.

* Helping children with the consequences of their offending, for their victim(s), for themselves, their families and their communities.

* Deliver a range of interventions which tackle the factors which place a child at risk of offending.

* Build effective local strategies to reduce crime by children by working collaboratively with partner agencies.
