Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer in Defence SectorWe're seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team in the defence sector.The RoleAs an Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure cloud infrastructure on Azure. You'll work with data processing and collaborate with developers to provide a robust platform for some innovative applications.Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain scalable, secure Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Optimise infrastructure for availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness
  • Collaborate with software engineers to support application requirements
  • Maintain high-level system security
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for infrastructure issues
  • Collaborate with third-party entities on cloud/technical DevOps
  • Work on cutting-edge defence programs, including sensor and cloud integration platforms
Desired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Azure Infrastructure and/or DevOps roles
  • Strong background in IaC using tools like Pulumi, Terraform, or CloudFormation
  • Experience with Kubernetes cluster deployment and management
  • Proficiency in implementing VPN solutions and overlay services
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL environments
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Docker, Jenkins)
  • Strong networking knowledge (IP Protocol, DNS, load balancing)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly
  • Strong communication skills, especially for technical concepts in a defence context
This role is based in Hereford and will require on site presence once a week.
