PHP Developer
Location: Rubery, Birmingham (Hybrid - 2 days onsite after initial 2 months full-time office)
Salary: 28,000 - 32,000
We are hiring for a PHP Developer for an established EdTech company providing innovative software solutions to the education sector. With a strong focus on customer-centric services, their team is dedicated to delivering high-quality software that makes a real difference in the learning space.
As a PHP Developer, you'll play a vital role in managing back-end services, ensuring seamless data interchange between servers and users, and developing robust PHP modules. You'll be part of a relaxed and collaborative team, contributing to the continuous improvement of their core EdTech platform.
Responsibilities:
- Analyse website and application requirements.
- Write efficient back-end code and build PHP modules.
- Develop optimised back-end portals with strong database structures.
- Troubleshoot, test, and maintain core product software and databases.
- Update and improve application features for enhanced performance.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, following industry best practices.
- Develop and deploy new features and tools as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar.
- Proven experience with PHP frameworks, particularly MVC architecture (e.g., Laravel).
- Strong understanding of object-oriented PHP programming.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies like JavaScript and HTML.
- Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL), version control (Git/SVN), and web services.
- Experience creating APIs and scalable applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage projects independently.
