The Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Yard Marshall.

As a Yard Marshall you will be working within the logistics team organising and marshalling incoming vehicles for collections and deliveries ensuring the smooth, safe and timely operation of the yard and inbound and outbound freight.

General Responsibilities:

  • Representing the company in a professional, helpful and proactive manner to all potential, new and current customers
  • Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring you comply with statutory law, company policy & health & safety guidelines
  • Complying with company policies and processes, achieving KPIs to improve cost and operational efficiencies.
  • Deliver a service in line with business expectations
  • Maintain good personal hygiene
  • Report product safety incidents
  • Watch for evidence of pests on site
  • Directing incoming traffic into the yard
  • Reporting any non-conformance or dangerous occurrences.
  • Ownership of groupage trailers including loading and unloading
  • Access the booking in system to direct drivers onto the correct bay
  • Access the gate controls to admit and release drivers who are delivering or collecting
  • Ownership of a Live yard map/footprint
  • Direct contact to transport and Logistics office to ensure a smooth operation and drivers are tipped and loaded on time.
  • Direct responsibility for pallet area and yard maintenance
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures and Service Level Agreements are complied with, for all customers.
  • Responsible for checking load security and strapping ensuring a safe delivery.
  • Signing for deliveries and noting any discrepancies
  • Completing E-learning and toolbox talks to continue your industry knowledge
  • Ensure any medicals and licences are up to date as per legislation.
  • Promote a positive and supportive working environment for all employees.
  • Undertake any other duties required.
  • Overall objectives will be further developed in line with the companys strategic objectives.
