Maybe considering teaching as a career?We are looking for an enthusiastic attendance support assistant who displays a high level of personal drive and energy to contribute to managing the attendance of 6th form students at the academy. This role would suit someone wanting to make an impact on student achievement with excellent communication and persuasion skills.Broadway Academy Trust is rated 'Good' by Ofsted and constantly striving for excellence.The TeamYou will be part of the 6th form team working closely together to ensure high standards of attendance and punctuality by students, which is key to academic progress. The 6th form team is cohesive and proactive about ensuring Broadway students achieve their full potential whilst at the Academy and prepare them for their next steps after school.The RoleWe are seeking a self-motivated, well organised and resilient team player who will encourage students and their parents to maximise 6th form attendance and punctuality and to engage fully with their academic studies.You will:
- Communicate daily with students, parents and staff on issue surrounding 6th form attendance
- Carry out absence calls to students and parents, encouraging 6th form students and their parents to strive for 100% attendance and punctuality
- Use the academy MIS to identify missing students and log calls
- Identify students missing from lessons who are still on site and encourage students to engage with independent study during free periods
- Hold one-to-one pastoral conversations with 6th form students
Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and concisely on the telephone and face-to-face, use influencing and negotiating skills with students and parents, and deal calmly with challenging conversations are essential.
