Zest Education are currently recruiting a full-time Student Support Assistant to join a hard-working team at a lovely two-form entry primary school in Tyseley. You will be expected to work Monday through to Friday, 8:30am till 3:30pm. This is a perfect opportunity to build a long-lasting relationship with a school. You will be working throughout KS2, supporting, and encouraging the children within their work. This role can start in November 2024.

This school fosters a safe and stimulating learning environment and encourages children to be confident and creative. To stay in accordance with the school’s ethos, the ideal candidate must be able to interact and support the children in an engaging and innovative way.

As a Full-Time Student Support Assistant, you will be required to…

  • Provide teachers with thorough and consistent feedback on the performance, development, and behaviour of their students.
  • Encourage positive student conduct and handle disputes efficiently and in line with the policies of the school.
  • Create and maintain a focused, structured, and supportive environment, in line with lesson plans and assist with the exhibition of student’s work.
  • Assist with the implementation of structured learning activities.
  • Prepare, maintain, and use equipment/resources and assist students in their use.
  • Create a good working rapport with senior leaders, co-workers, and parents.
  • Help with student supervision during non-class periods.

You must:

  • Work constructively as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Have general knowledge of the National Curriculum and other learning programmes.
  • Have the desire to make a difference to children’s education.
  • Experience working with children in an education-based setting is highly desirable.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS or have the willingness to obtain one.
  • Support the aims and ethos of the school.
  • Level 2 (or higher) or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
