Tradewind are working with an all-through special school dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to students with a range of special educational needs. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teaching assistant to provide specialist 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 4. This is a full-time role, 8:30am-3:30pm.

Responsibilities:

Assist the student in accessing the curriculum, engaging in learning activities, and developing essential skills.

Implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and strategies tailored to the student's unique needs and abilities.

Support the student's social and emotional development, fostering independence and self-confidence.

Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure the student receives personalised support and intervention.

Requirements:

Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a special school setting.

Understanding of Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), and experience implementing strategies to support students with complex needs.

Previous experience working with challenging behaviour.

Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to working with children with SEN.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.

Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to support the individual needs and learning journey of the student.
