One to One Inclusion support Assistant – SEN

I am recruiting for experienced Male One to One Inclusion Support Assistant to work full time, long term temporary position to start ASAP. You will be working on a one-to-one basis with a vulnerable child on the at-risk register in Key stage two that presents with emotional dysregulation and complex social needs. It is important to be passionate about working with children and really wanting to make a difference in their lives. Job description:

  • Support the pupil in promoting the bespoke individualised learning.
  • Providing clarity explaining activities for that day.
  • Motivating and encouraging the learner through child led therapy play, reassuring and supporting with tasks as appropriate to their needs.
  • Assistance on weaker areas of the learner’s development: speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy etc.
  • Using praise and nurturing approach encouraging the learner to keep on task.
  • Effectively and consistently implementing the unit’s behaviour management strategies.
  • Helping to make appropriate resources to support the learner.
  • Establish supportive relationship with the learner.
  • Monitor the learner’s response to activities through record keeping.
  • Support the learner in developing social skills.
  • Apply positive handling techniques where appropriate.

Job specification

  • Minimum Level two Teaching Assistant qualification or at least 6 months experience working with children with SEND.  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team Teach de-escalation training is an advantage but not essential.
  • Pro-active and adaptability to the learner’s needs.
  • CPD development opportunities.
