Primary SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a Teaching Assistant who has Primary and SEND experience?Do you have experience of working with children with Complex Autism?Academics are currently working with a Special School in North Birmingham that specialises in supporting pupils with Autism, ranging from moderate to severe. They require a talented SEND TA who is flexible, enthusiastic and supportive to their children with educational needs and that would be happy to join their dedicated team. This is a full time position starting in Jan 2025.All applicants MUST have experience of working with children with special educational needs and disabilities for a minimum of 3 months.For every child you support on a one to one basis you will receive their care plan so you are fully aware of the child's background and requirements. The school caters for pupils who range from the age of four up to eleven and offer a great support system.

On your first day, you will be given a full induction to ensure you're comfortable in using the school's facilities and are efficient in utilising their resources and equipment. You will need to feel confident within a SEND classroom environment and be able to take direction from a class teacher. The role will include: * Assisting the teacher with classroom preparation * 1-1 work with students who require additional support * Leading group work * Helping the class teacher with pupil observations

Academics Ltd requires all candidates to have a fully enhanced DBS check, minimum of two year working references plus a face to face interview.
