Hays Education are supporting a local Special Needs school in recruiting a dedicated SEN Pastoral Manager to start working with them as soon as possible. This role is to cover an ongoing staff absence and will continue to the end of the term and could continue into January 2025. The school is located in east Birmingham, not far from the city centre and describe themselves as a focussed and dedicated school who have young people at the centre of their ethos. Details of the role and school:

  • School caters for children at KS4 level with social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH)
  • The role is Monday to Friday 8am - 4.00 pm
  • The candidate will have a clear understanding of pastoral issues within an educational setting and be passionate and determined to build relationships with the school's young people and their families
  • The postholder will ensure that the school's young people receive the appropriate support in order to nurture and develop their effective learning and emotional wellbeing.
  • The person concerned needs to be resilient, and preferably have some experience of behaviour management
  • Duties will include meeting parents and outside professionals
  • The person concerned must have knowledge and experience of ensuring Child Safeguarding
