We are currently recruiting for both Primary and Secondary SEN (Special Educational Needs) teaching assistant positions starting this September.

Role Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to support the learning and development of students with special educational needs across primary and secondary schools in Birmingham. This full-time role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about education and making a positive impact on young people's lives, particularly those requiring additional support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of SEN students
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a supportive learning environment
  • Assist with the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
  • Support students with their academic and personal development
  • Help with phonics for early years (if applicable)
  • Perform other classroom duties as required

Ideal Candidate:

  • Some experience working with young people, particularly those with SEN
  • SEN experience
  • Classroom experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Phonics experience for early years teaching assistant positions is beneficial
  • Willing to learn and adapt to different educational environments
  • Holds a current DBS on the update service or is willing to obtain one
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and reliable
