Role: Teaching Assistant SEN (Secondary School)

About Them: We are working with a secondary school in South Birmingham, and currently seeking a Teaching Assistant (TA) for Special Educational Needs (SEN). Role Requirements

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 (minimum entry requirement)
  • Experience in supporting children with special educational needs is highly preferred. This includes working with students who have speech, language, and communication needs, as well as those with autism and other learning difficulties.
  • Attributes: Commitment, enthusiasm, energy, and the ability to inspire learners daily

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teaching colleagues to support the delivery of quality learning, teaching, and assessment
  • Develop rapport with learners and engage with reading at a level reflective of study needs
  • Support learners with speech, language, and communication needs, including autism
  • Working with learners with cognition and learning needs to differentiate/scaffold learning tasks
